The Michael Chekhov Technique is most often explored within the world of theatre. Yet many actors find themselves asking: How can this imaginative and transformative method be applied to on-camera performance and reveal its full potential on screen? How did Chekhov himself approach acting for film, and how can today’s actor bring his tools on a film set?
The On-Camera Acting: Workshop with the Michael Chekhov Technique offers a welcoming space to explore these questions and to experience the key differences between stage and film acting. Using practical exercises, participants translate common film-acting and directing terms into Michael Chekhov tools and train to apply them effectively in front of the camera – for self-tapes, auditions, and film acting.
Through performing in micro short films, participants practice navigating on-set work with creativity, playfulness, and confidence. On-Camera Acting: Workshop with the Michael Chekhov Technique encourages a shift in the perception of a film shoot – from often stressful and marked by intense time pressure and challenging working conditions – to a joyful, inspired artistic process.
Who is it for?
