Anna-Katharina Andrees
is an actress, director for contemporary circus, dance and theatre, teacher of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique, and coach for artists and performers. She has been practicing the Michael Chekhov Technique for around 20 years and received her teacher training in 2014 through Jörg Andrees’s intensive program at the Michael Chekhov International Academy (MCIA).
Additional training includes foundational studies in the Rosalia Chladek® System, dance studies at Seneca Intensiv in Berlin, and participation in numerous workshops and laboratories.
As the founder and long-time artistic director of Zentrum für bewegte Kunst e.V.—an inclusive center for circus arts in Berlin—she brings extensive experience in inclusive artistic practices. As a director and production manager of various interdisciplinary projects, Anna-Katharina has collaborated with a wide range of artists, musicians, dancers, theatres, and festivals.
In addition to her directing work, she regularly teaches at the Michael Chekhov International Academy and contributes to advanced training programs such as IN.ZIRQUE® (ZBK e.V.) and Seneca Intensiv. She also leads international workshops and supports artists and performers as a coach and “outside eye” in their creative processes.
In 2020, she founded the 7 Women Company and directed her own production NORA. Anna-Katharina’s work focuses on movement, visualization, concentration, and improvisation.
