About this workshop
REVEALING THE CHARACTER
How to reveal the character?
How to approach the text?
What’s in between the lines?
This weekend workshop will involve working on individual monologues to reveal the given characters. Using various tools of the Chekhov Technique you will learn to trust your own creative inspiration to portray the character. The joy of this technique is that we can create artistic feelings for the character without delving into our own personal feelings. This weekend should remind us that acting is playful and exciting. The monologues will be explored by using atmosphere, gesture, compositional analysis and movement. By the end of the weekend everyone will have an opportunity to show their character to the group by way of a little performance.
This workshop is open to all levels of experience.
It will be given by Sarah Purcell, an actor and teacher from Ireland, who has been using the Chekhov Technique for over 15 years. To apply for this course, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org
